District Nursing
Our team of experienced and highly skilled nursing staff provide a wide range of patient-centered specialist nursing care predominantly in patients’ homes, workplaces, or from their clinic facilities at Clutha Health First by prior arrangement.
Our District Nurses provide expert assessment, management support, and education while working with the patients GP or other health professional to deliver the following:
- Wound Care
- ACC Community (Home Based) Nursing
- IV Therapy
- Oxygen Therapy
- Chemotherapy
- Meals on Wheels Assessments
- Urinary Cather Care
- Bowel and Stoma Care
- Palliative Care
- Health Promotion and Education
Patients are referred to the District Nursing Service following discharge from hospital, from your GP, or other health care professional working in either the hospital or the community. Patients or family members may also self-refer to the service.
Our District Nursing service is free to all patients who are eligible for health care in New Zealand hospitals.
